Prof Ranjit Singh

Professor Ranjit Singh Ji, who runs the Bhai Mardana Academy in LA and has been teaching Gurmat Sangeet all his life, was honored for his lifelong contributions. Professor Sahib studied vocal music with Sardar Sohan Singh of the Agra Khayal Gharana and the legendary Sikh Vyagyakar, Gian Singh Almast, who was a student of Pandit Vishnu Gigambar Paluskar of the Gwalior Khayal Gharana. He also studied Tabla with Ustand Bahdur Singh Ji and Jori Pakhwaj with Baba Nihal Singh Ji.
