What exactly is bana anyway?

I hear a lot about bana, but I don't understand what it is. Could someone please explain that to me? Thanks in advance,

Baana is the uniform of Sikh. It was gifted to us when Guru Gobind Singh gave us Amrit. It is said Sahibzada Fateh Singh adorned Baana to impress Guru.

When you look at someone wearing Baana, you feel you are looking at someone from 1699. But when you wear Baana, you realize all shackles of time and place are broken.

Moreover Baana as a dress perfectly encompasses the spirit of Sant - Sipahi (Saint + Soldier) which I believe there is no other dress to do so.
