Old recordings of Raag?
Old recordings of Raag?
WJKK WJKF,
Are there are recordings of kirtan before the 1950's? I'm really interested to hearing how much kirtan used to be back then, and how much it had changed now, via the vaaja era... Are there any recordings or even clips? Or do they not exist?

Bhai Dharam Singh Zakhmi is renowned jatha, does only raag kirtan. They established their jatha in the 50s, so that might just fit into your criteria. They also have an Asa Ki Vaar recorded, suggest you listen to it - it's quite beautiful, sung to Tunde Asraj ki Dhuni as the Guru states.
