Re: prayer

Related question - what is the Sikh view of free will ?

Is there such a thing ?

(I pose this question only to provide fodder to an argument relevant to your question. I have my own opinion of what free will is :) )

Re: June 6th: What did we learn after 26 years?

I think that the native insularity, and racism I often observe among fellow Punjabi Sikhs, has cut Sikhi off from possible sources of support. I lived in Amritsar during the days of the Bluestar and heard the cannon fire. I think that the idea of Khalistan, as proposed at that time, was born in unde...

Re: Is tolerance of intolerance really tolerance, or is it .

Your post appears to be set in ego my friend, you ask in effect 'is tolerance worth it, if it cause our youth to leave our faith?' To my mind it shows a love of the path, rather than a love of where the path leads. Now of course you can dissagree with me, but isn't Sikhi a Dharma? A path to be trod...

Re: KHALSALAND--- *The wonder land*

This is almost surreal.

Sikhi exists in the heart, and in the congregation. Not as a prisoner of a place where it is constantly subjected to the worst indignities by those too besotted with an incompatible culture.

Re: Is tolerance of intolerance really tolerance, or is it .

Ok maybe I need to elaborate a little here. I can get why I might have been misunderstood. My basic premise about grandparents is to love and hug their grandchildren, a lot and often. :) Parents are there to do the hard work of raising and guiding and discipline etc. So maybe yes some grandparents ...

Re: KHALSALAND--- *The wonder land*

On the other hand, we have more people willing to go out of Punjab on any day rather coming back to settle there and carry out local productive economical activities including agriculture. How many of our friends 'settled' abroad want to come back and make it their home brining their newly acquired...

Re: Sikhism Today! - will we survive??? (UNMODERATED)

Imperfect sikh ji, You are right when you explained your part from the biological point of view that Punjabi is an enemy of sikhism. We can see this in every aspect of punjab whether it is the politics, the majority sikhs discriminating against the minority or the low caste sikhs, our own organisat...

Re: KHALSALAND--- *The wonder land*

Imperfect sikh ji, The geopolitical boudaries are just man made and humans are known to commit errors/mistakes. The khalsa land can and will emerge as one state one day. How stable are all the other geographical boundaries in the world. We have witnessed breakdown of several kingdoms ourselves in o...

Re: Is tolerance of intolerance really tolerance, or is it .

ImperfectSikh ji, I fail to see how grandkids telling their granddad that he is headed to hell amounts to any kind of love or respect for him. You can also look at it from a different perspective. The fact that grandkids say this shows that they at least care about their granddad. The only thing gr...

Sat Sri Akaal, My response to you was deemed as personal and offensive by the moderators. I merely indicated an unwillingness to join a discussion that is rooted more in historical fantasy than present day geopolitical realities. In the interim, I find it interesting that the same moderators found n...
