For a start go to therapy , dealing with depression needs mental and physical help as well , i.e. medications to restore some vitamin and iron/magnesium etc balance. If you cant afford therapy or don't want to go for any reason , then i would suggest along with Gurbani also read up on some self help...

Get some Janam Sakhi books if you want insight into Gurus life, Just google it and you will find resources. you can also get Japji Sahib, Sukhmani Sahib, Nitnem Gutkas , (they now days come with with English translation, read in English till you pick up Gurmukhi, i personally think you should take ...
