Kalgi/Sehra and Burkas

So I read a post on here how a Groom should not enter the Darbar Hall wearing a Kalgi or Sehra as it is disrespectful. Let me know your thoughts on this as well. Main Point: The person said a Sehra covers the grooms face to protect them from nazaar and in the end, it is covering the grooms face from...

Re: The Sword and The Kalgi/ Sehra

From Vela Aa Gaya Hai | Chaar Sahibzaade, the Singhs were dressed and Dadeji put Kalgis on them. Is this then a wrong interpretation of the director? Shree Gobind Singh ...

Re: Advice needed - Kept a secret from boyfriend's parents

However, in our culture aspect, it is just frowned upon. I believe it is also our parent's fault. Before technology things w...

Re: Regarding touch any human being’s feet

I am not sure where it says this in the Gurbani however I remember the kattha i heard as a child that we only bow down to the Guru Garanth Sahib as s/he will give us the wisdom on being true humans. But I must ask, why would you touch someone's feet? I believe our community gets lost in the translat...

Maternal Duties in Sikh Wedding

Hi there! My wedding has been set and I have recently began to plan it out. As I was reading through all the small ceremonies that occur in the wedding I never realized how involved the maternal side is involved in the wedding. (Chooda ceremony, nanki shaak, jaggo, etc.) My question/concern is: My d...
