Work - Seeking Guidance

WJKK WJKF. I have started a new job 2 months ago. I am struggling to cope with the demands of this job but I am trying my best. I am usually someone who works well with other people but I keep unexpectedly rubbing everyone the wrong way and things which are so minor get escalated. The only saving gr...

Re: Someone help me

Mandy, I can sympathise with your situation - it is difficult to be torn between your potential partner and your parents. I got married when I was 22 and at the time I did not understand or realise that life is more than your relationship with your husband - it is your career, your studies, relation...

Re: how to deal with depression

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Thank you for your replies. I am trying to find hobbies to stay busy in and looking into the tulsi tea suggested by singhbj. My family lives overseas so it's difficult for them to visit me. I don't think my depression is stress related, all I want to do ev...

Re: how to deal with depression

Thank you so much for your reply! I have spoken to my doctor before and he has also advised me to stay busy with hobbies etc. but I don't find any joy in trying new hobbies. I feel like I am in a black hole with only negative thoughts to keep me company. Things which would gave me joy 2 weeks ago ha...

how to deal with depression

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Over the past 3 years, I have been dealing with depression - on and off. Six months ago, I thought I had dealt with the depression, become a more positive person and learned to live and enjoy the present moment. Over the past 10 days, I have fallen back i...

Re: Sikh marriage problems

Hi RR_7, This may not seem like great advice, but no one knows your family, your boyfriend and what you want more than you do. I don't believe parents consent regarding marriage is a concern in Sikhi, the final and ultimate decision lies with you. I would say, definitely think your decision through....

Re: guidance

Thank you for your reply! I agree, I believe this decision needs to come from within and there is no point of forcing your spouse to do something against their will, it will only lead to problems. All I can do is hope that he starts to feel the same way I do. I don't mean to pry, but may I ask which...

Re: sikhs dont believe in kundalis right?

When I was engaged, my dad (my family is Sikh) decided to visit a pundit and see how our kundali's matched up. The pundit advised my dad that if the wedding went ahead, I would have severe health problems (and possibly lead to death). My dad then decided to go and visit five other pundits, who also ...
