Sikhs in the US Army
I am perplexed that these days, we talk about a sikh officer or a corporal in the US Army and we make a big discussion. But in the US Army, there was a Col (Dr) Tina Sodhi, Gastro specialist, a devout Amritdhari Sikh, now retired and living in Virginia, close to DC, after more than two decades of ac...

If, in sikh religion, no day is considered auspicious and unauspicious, because we dont beleive in shanivaar or mangalvar, then how come we have started celeb...

Re: sikh vs sikh?
First, IJJ thanks for an excellent exposition. I have not understood the motive of this thread. But, i think, one should not be sacred of competition if that is the motive of this sikh vs sikh connotation, for the following reasons - a) Competition is always better - and with competition, progress, ...

Meaning of word Santokh?
Dear All Ji, In Japji, we read Dhaul Dharam Daya ka ppot, santokh thaap rakhiya jeen sooth. Now, what is the meaning of word Santokh or contentment for a sikh? Accept what is given or else work hard and try to change the destiny itself? Any clarification, based on Gurbani or a Sakhi will be apprecia...

According to Sikh Rehat Maryada, Morning banis are five, same as while preparing Amrit. This gentleman, says only 3. What is this - a role model for whom?
Thanks

Re: Sikh Rehat Maryada - Time to revisit?
Just a thought -
Homosexual behaviour is not new to human race. Any historical evidence as to How it was dealt with during Guruji's time from 1469 to 1708 AD?
Thanks

Re: Gurbani - Difference between Sikh, normal human and anim
In continuation of my previous email to Biriabc Ji and some more, Guru Arjan Dev ji in Sukhmani Sahib says - Kartoot pashu ki manas jaat, lok pachara kare din raat. (Actions of an animal, human form, pleasing the world day and night). I am trying to understand and explain as to what is this characte...

Re: Gurbani - Difference between Sikh, normal human and anim

(I hail the Guru a hundreds thousands times as he reveals the secret of transforming a man into an angel, and tha...
