Re: Reaching God without amrit

I love the analogy that the Guru Sahib uses within Gurbani... Can you imagine a person swimming across the Pacific Ocean? It has not been done, nor can it be... but we have done it... via boat. So the Guru states, that without a Guru one can not traverse the Ocean of Life... Guru is the boat that we...

Re: Searching for wedding accessory

Jeeo, Heartiest congratulations... From what I understand, the item you are describing, known as a "palla" is often acquired from Punjab India. Information is all over the web, Sikh history, Sikh Dha...

Re: Suicide of our religion

Ji, Even if all of the information and revelations of Sikhi could be made concise, and transformed into a single sentence, that sentence would not be understood by 99% of persons. The mind is always deluding the Conscious being, and the Self-conscious the Spiritual centre is often left in the backgr...

Re: fighting

Belief... If 50 students, 25 each side, entered a discussion, and it turned into a debate... If various things were presented, and many remarks made... If convincing arguments were told, and shouts began... If fists were raised, and punches thrown... If still, after all of this 50 left with the same...

Re: What does Gurbani say about Mind

Additionally Ji,

Additionally the mind is thought (Sanklap) and opposite though (Viklap) - 2 dichotomies Conscious mind v. Observing mind

Lastly, there is no-mind = meditation or Samadhi

It is believed that there are 3 perhaps 4 levels of the mind:

- Conscious
- Subconscious
- Unconscious
