In the last few weeks, the story of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh and his hunger strike have become a focus for many people within the Sikh community. A hunger strike is a time-honored tactic of non-violent protest, meant to bring attention to political or human rights issues.
In the world of the 21st century our value does not rest in what we acquire, find, or know. It rests in who we have become through our experience. Value lies in our capacity and ability to consciously use information. Ultimately, we are valuable for our wisdom and our ability to deliver results.
Over 500 years ago, Guru Nanak taught that Truth is a universal constant, and nobody has an exclusive right to it. Like the story of the six blind men describing an elephant, most of us have our own version of truth, but beyond that lies the ultimate truth underlying the unity of humankind.
What do the so called sacred sites all over the world have to do with consciousness? Is it possible that the ancients left us keys to who we really are and what we are capable of? What does sacred geometry really have to do with these sites, our consciousness and even the symbology of world religions?
For the past 5 years the Uruguayans would come to Argentina to participate in the Tour. With their expansion and prayer they requested this year to host the Tour. We were received with so much love and affection that by the time we had to leave, we regretted that it was just a two day visit.
It has become such a successful program that now the 4 main prisons of the country offer classes in Kundalini Yoga. It is amazing to see 300 inmates chanting and meditating. It only makes us more convinced that our work is really great to reach people when they are young to help them avoid the entrapments of life that can place them behind bars.
At the surface level there can be some reason to believe that culture is not related to any of the aspects of religion.
