Learn and understand the meaning of Gurbani from Siri Guru Granth Sahib using this easy to use audio book style app. Currently featuring over 600 hours of Gurbani Katha in Punjabi by Giani Thakur Singh and Giani Harbhajan Singh USA. With plans to add additional Katha audio to the app in later releases.
The SikhNet Gurbani Media Center App is now FREE for a limited period of time, thanks to the generous support of Avtar Singh Dhamija, of Akal Engineers and Consultants Ltd, Canada.
I wouldn't limit this app to kids. I think the app is just the thing that will finally help my father in law (who is in his 60s and wants to learn Punjabi) easily learn the language at his own pace but in an interactive and engaging way.
When the Gurbani Media Center went live on SikhNet, it soon became iconic. In short order, it grew to become the largest repository for Gurbani online, with over 20,000 tracks and over 700 artists.
It's a real musical instrument that's always in your pocket. Wave your mobile phone through the air to play ethereal music. Gurbani Raag scales are built into the Sound Wand app as "Morning" (Asa) "Afternoon" (Gauri) "Evening" (Sri Raag) and "Bedtime" (Kaanra.)
The mobile app is called FlyRights. Travelers who suspect they have been profiled take out their smartphone, tap a finger on the app and answer about a dozen questions. Then they hit "submit" and an official complaint is filed immediately with the Transportation Security Administration.
The new app plays SikhNet live Gurbani audio streams from Gurdwaras around the world that includes live kirtan from Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab, India and also plays SikhNet radio channels (1-6) featuring different types of Gurbani music
iGurbani is a valuable tool to search the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji and Vaaran written by Gursikhs such as Bhai Gurdaas Ji and Bhai Nand Lal Ji. It is designed to be an aid for your personal life to connect to the Guru.
Now you can listen to SikhNet radio on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad wherever you have an internet connection. It allows fast, easy streaming of all the SikhNet radio channels directly to your iPhone and will accommodate new music channels as they are added.
