GurSikh Speed Meeting Toronto Success, next San Francisco.
Date: 10/09/2006
News Source: http://
Calling all Single Gursikh Sardarnis and Sardars!!!

Due to popular demand, GurSikh Speed Meeting has gone on the road with the first stop in Canada and the second stop on the West Coast!!

The idea for this project came from the ever popular ‘8 minute dating’ which has spread throughout the major cities of the world. GurSikh Speed Meeting is intended to help single Sikhs find their match, the proverbial “CLICK”. The purpose is to formalise a meeting process for GurSikh individuals.

The concept is quite simple. An equal number of Sardars and Sardarnis register. On the event date, each Sardar will meet a Sardarni one-on-one and chat for a specified number of minutes rotating till they have met all the Singhnis. This face to face style of meeting has spurred much interest, in addition to, respecting the participant's privacy. Only if there is an agreed "CLICK" will an exchange of contact information occur. Until this event, most Sikhs in search of their soulmate relied on family connections, matrimonial ads and the internet to find their match. GurSikh Speed Meeting has made it much easier to find and meet people of similar interests that may or may not be from one’s locality, to determine quickly if there is potential for something more, whether that is friendship or marriage.

We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that the 3rd GSSM event conducted in Toronto on September 2nd was successful, but challenging!! Participants attended from the United Kingdom, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Alberta and of course, Toronto.

We would like to begin to spread the word for the 4th event taking place in San Francisco in mid-November and would like to make a special request to the Sardarnis out there. It seems that NYC is more attractive for GSSM events with the women as we had more Sardarnis attend than Sardars. So, in order to prove this theory wrong, we are reaching out to all Gursikh women and, of course, the men as well. If we are unable to prove this theory incorrect, every GSSM event will have to be on the East Coast!!

Please visit www.sikhspeed.com for more information.

We have received over 450 emails to date and the support, feedback, energy, optimism, etc. that was shown prior to and at all 3 events has been incredible!

Some of the feedback we received from the TO event is below.

"Thanks for the speed meeting event tonight. It was quite nice, hassle-free and laid back. This made for an enjoyable evening."

"Thanks for having this event on a Saturday. The breaks in between were great. I liked the venue, service and variety of food."

"Went very well, well-organised. Glad to have food and much-needed breaks."

"Nice effort. Great job. Thanks and well-done"

"Thanks for all the effort...much appreciated!!"

"Good venue. Good food. Good job all together - Great seva!"
