The Muslim Taxi Driver

WAHEGURU JEE KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JEE KI FATEH!

Today Iwould like to share something which happened with me in Dubai. It was very hot,  about 47'c the temperature and I had already walked about 5kms, I was sweating like hell. While coming back from Diera a place in Dubai, I was not able to find a Taxi to come back, it was 7:45 in the evening I had not slept for almost 24 hrs and I was asking to GOD what are you doing with me? If I don't get the taxi I will miss my office cab @ 9.45. I was waiting and waiting for a taxi since 6.45 but was not able to find a one.

Suddenly, a man walked beside me and asked where do you want to go? I said Bur dubai Astoria Hotel,- a well known hotel near my place, he said he will charge me 30 dhirams (approx 350 IN rupees), I said I will give u 20 dhirams. He said Okay, I will bring my cab and I will drop you. He came and we started our journey. While I was entering the cab he said "if any Police person asks you, please don't say that you will pay me." (because private taxis are not allowed in Dubai and there is a fine of 500 dhirams). I said "no issues."

We started our journey and I asked him "where are you from?" he said "I am from Pakistan." I said "My great my ancestors are also from Pakistan... Kasoor. He said he was from Karachi. He said "I would also like to tell you that my grandparents were also Sikhs, but now we have converted to Islam," and suddenly he started saying that I should also convert to Islam. He started pressuring me by saying that I should say the Kalma 3 times a day and then I would be a proper Muslim and I will get Jannat. I was quiet and was listening to him very carefully.

He started his theory that Mohammad said this and said that... he created the whole world, you should go for namaz, you should bow him. He is the one who sets the sun, and also helps in sunrise. He created all these buildings and it's because of him we all survive.

He then said, "What have your GURUS done? Why do you pray to them?

Till now I had been quiet, but how could I remain quiet when he was asking such a question?

I said, "I will not argue with you BUT, I will ask you only three questions. Please reply to me." He said OK.

Q1- I asked why only Muslims are allowed to visit a mosque, however, no other person is allowed.

The answer which I got is that all Muslims are Pakistani Muslims and they are the only ones who are allowed to visit the Mosque. All non-Muslims are not Pakistani so they are not allowed to visit Mosque.

I replied "OK."

Q2- I asked then why ladies are not allowed to visit mosque.

The answer which I got from him is that they are NAPAK. On the other hand he said they go for HAJ.

I replied.

Mr. ....... I would like to inform you that in the Sikh way of life Shree Guru Gobind Singh Jee has give the same vale to a Male and Female. He said one is Singh and the other is Singhni... there is no difference in it.

In our community all are welcomed to Gurudwara at any time. No one is denied no matter what community he or she is from.

It was his time to listen now... he was quiet.

"uddenly he said again, "What special things hava your GURUS done that they are to be treated as GOD?"
I said wait my last question is still to come.

"Ah, question three," I said.  You beleive in GOD who created this Universe and you name it as ALLAH? He said "That's right" and smiled. I said, "he is the one who does everything?" He replied, "Yes." I said, "It is because of him all the buildings are standing?" He said "damn right!"

I said "BUT, I beleive in my GOD GURU NANAK becuse he is the one who went to MECCA and rotated the MOSQUE. I BELEIVE IN HIM because he did a thing which cannot be done by anyone. Can you give me any name of anyone who has done this?

IS THERE ANYONE IN THIS UNIVERSE TILL TODAY who has this much power? If so name him. HE is the SUPREME POWER."

I am telling you for a second he was stunned. He had no words to answer. He was quiet for about five minutes, and then my stop came. When I paid him the money he said, "I am sorry If I have hurt you." I said, "No, not at all. I have given you the answers to your questions only."

I said "Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee ki fateh!" and left the cab.

When I reached home I did a Paath of Chaupai sahib and did ardaas to Shree Guru Gobind Singh jee that I am proud to be a Sikh.

Standing as Khalsa

Sat Hari Singh Khalsa New york City We all live in a world where the vast majority of the religious people are extremly sectarian. As Sikhs we practice a universal dharma and it is great that this singhani stood up and shared the truth of Sikhi. This what the Gurus came for and what Guru Khalsa means. In New York City I'm approached all the time by often obnoxious missionaries who tell me all Sikhs go to hell. So I have trained myself to defend Sikhi and show them the ridiculous aspects of their dharma, its contridictions etc. I never read of the Sikh Gurus refusing to engage in discussions on what is dharma. The world needs a dharmic make-over, We cannot have the self destructive faiths in control so we must all become defenders of Sikhi and missionaries as well. There are many ways to do this from teaching Sikh meditation to sharing Sikhi. Project naad has many useful pamplets that can be downloaded. If we don't defend Sikhi who will? Local missionaries come to Sikh festivals and sing hymns and distribute pamphlets on the fringes of the festival in NYC. When they are confronted and asked to explain the contridictions in their faith rather than just attack Sikhi they often leave. Good show Khalsa ji

well said singh saab !!!!
