Vaisakhi on the Square

London celebrated the Sikh New Year on Sunday 5 May with music, Bhangra and Punjabi dance, food and children’s activities. There was also a sizzling musical line up including Channi Singh from Alaap, Shin of DCS, Navin Kundra, Juggy D, Foji, The Phat Kat Koalition and Heera, plus top DJs.

Each year, London celebrates Vaisakhi, the Sikh New Year festival, in Trafalgar Square. Previous events have been very popular, with around 30,000 people attending during the day. Vaisakhi on the Square is an annual event presented by the Mayor of London.
