FROM PRESIDENT'S DESK

President (4K)
Dr J S Nanra
Last few months were very hectic but eventful for Nishkam. Some of the major events conducted added impetus to building Nishkam brand image. One such major event was the study tour performed by Sikligar students. Nishkam organized an exclusive educational tour for twenty Sikligar students studying in Khalsa Public Secondary School, Guru Ram Das Colony, Udaipur in Standards III to VIII with a view to enhance their general awareness and to provide them first hand information about historical places, monuments and leading Gurdwaras in Punjab and Delhi.

Another equally important event was the handing over of scholarship cheques to recipients of Perpetual Scholarships of Nishkam and Scholarships instituted by the 'Relief Committee of Greater New York, USA'. 303 students, studying in classes from VIII to XII (including professional courses students) who are brilliant in studies but their parents have limited financial resources, were given the scholarship cheques. I convey my blessings to all these students.

Nishkam has always stood in the fore-front to help the needy, not only in providing assistance for education but also for medical care and other facilities for needy widows, destitute senior citizens, orphans and physically challenged persons.......

Nishkam is completing this year its 30 years' journey of relentless service to the humanity. This has been made possible due to the untiring efforts of each and everyone associated with Nishkam, guidance given by experts and the excellent work done by the past presidents, general secretaries and Council Members/Sewadars. Each one has added to the spirit of energy and selfless service that has brought Nishkam to today's level. Let us reaffirm our commitment to the cause of 'Nishkam Sewa' and 'Sarbat Da Bhalla'. I wish Nishkam success in all its endeavors and pray that Nishkam scales greater heights of excellence, keep its commitment to serve the society and continue achieving its goals set for the noble cause.
