Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, May Darwin be with you—what is the best seasonal greeting? What if they are all fine? That’s the sentiment behind a new book that treats the winter holiday season for what it has become for many people, an intercultural, inter-religious celebration.

In Santa Singh, Bhupinder, a young Sikh boy from Canada is worried that Santa Claus will not visit his house. Fortunately, a big man in a red suit does show up: Santa Singh. And Santa’s wife, Bibi Kaur, comes along, bringing her dance party drum with her.

Santa Singh not only reveals the way many diasporic Sikhs have come to celebrate the holidays alongside their neighbours, but also provides readers with a glimpse into Sikh beliefs and practices.

Bhupinder’s interaction with his parents and his festive visitors provide a means for Bhupinder to better himself. Despite being a book about a Sikh family, this holiday book communicates the spirit of Christmas and reveals what many of us suspect: there is a common humanity that links the human family.

As an added element, the book was authored by a father and his two children who wanted to write their Christmas story. At the very least, this holiday season, inquisitive readers can add another greeting to their list: Sat Sri Akal!

Easy to read, filled with charming rhymes and illustrated with lots of lovely drawings, Santa Singh entertains and brings a message of love and tolerance.

Authors Dalbir, Tajus, and Svaja Sehmby  together as a family, have created a fun holiday children's book for Age Level: 5 - 15 (Grade Level: K - 10)

You can grab it as a Kindle eBook which is easily read on your Apple or Android phone or tablet using the Kindle App. It can also be read on Mac or PC.
