Millions Reached Through
Sikh American Commercial

Thanks to your (SikhNet) support, and partners like Comcast and the Center for Asian American Media, SALDEF’s first-ever Sikh American commercial hit the airwaves this summer. The 30-second TV spot has aired in 39 states and Washington, DC, over 70,000 times due to a generous one million dollar donation of airtime by Comcast.

Missed it? Watch the commercial below!

Major media outlets reported on SALDEF’s commercial for the community, writing about Sikhs’ 125-year history in the United States and our commitment to creating safe and fostering communities across the nation. In technical terms, SALDEF secured 103,144,185 in impressions through media coverage—a number that tells us how many people were reached through broadcast and online outlets. That means that through our media outreach we were able to reach one-third of the American population across the country!

Highlights of coverage include:

We received messages from Americans who saw the commercial as they watched Bravo, AMC, FOX, and other channels. We learned that many of them don’t know Sikhs and were inspired to hear about our faith’s commitment to equality and community. In one message, a viewer in Colorado Springs wrote to SALDEF, asking to visit a gurdwara and meet Sikh Americans in her town.

We thank you for sending us over 400 images and video submissions to be included in the commercial. We want to show these images to others in the United States and you can help us do that now. Please make a 100% tax-deductible donation to support us so that we can continue to make a real and meaningful impact on the perception of Sikhs in America.

Thank you,
Jasjit Singh
