Meet the Artist - Paramjeet Kaur

November 18th, 2008
An emerging Sikh artist shares her work

My name is Paramjeet Kaur. I am now a Frisco Texas, USA resident, but I am originally from Bombay, India. I work as an artist to serve our proud Sikh community. I have done few shows in Dallas TX. I work as a "mix of colour and texture, combined with a natural curiosity for solutions and visual communication. I create interplay between the abstract and the representational while exploring both surface and meaning.

I like to cloud in warm colors as they keep me lively and full of energy. Warm colors express energy, warmth, enthusiasm, vibrancy and attention which also plays major role in our moods too. I want my paintings to convey my life learned messages. I believe such painting will not only beautify the modern walls but the inner souls too.

I find inspiration in the works of artist Shobha Singh, one of the great artists of twentieth century. I am self-taught and unrestrained from conventional method of paintings.

"It's always fascinating to pick up empty canvas and start combining strokes, colors and thoughts".

Process invents my creation. I start with an idea. One idea leads to another just as one paint stroke leads to the next.

"Painting gives me peace of mind and takes me in to the depth of thoughts and makes me lost in my own world"

Regards, Paramjeet Kaur

Dear Bhainjee,
I can feel your best is yet to come out but the hand is moving in right direction. Your hand reminds me of a great artist Gursikh bhainjee Mehtab Kaur of Chandigarh, who was featured in 31 raags book composition.
May Waheguru bless you in all your endeavors.
May I request humbly that All such gursikhs who are taking advantage of Sikhnet for their commercial endeavors should think of donating their daswandh to Sikhnet.
Sikhnet is yours, our and everyone's combined endeavor. it needs your support, please do not hesitate to donate.
Your donation is going into right hands.

Picture Name

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Dear Paramjeet Kaur Ji, I enjoyed viewing your paintings. Keep up the good work. I did notice one thing which may or may not be correct. One of the paintings is labeled "Guru Gobindrai ji". It is right after the painting of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The painting looks very much like other paintings of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. I'm not sure if it's labeled incorrectly or if it's supposed to be Guru Gobind Rai (before he became Guru Gobind Singh Ji). Anyway, I just wanted to bring it to your attention. GurFateh!

correction

SSA Daljit Singhji for bringing this to my attention...appreciate your comments ,i am working on Guruji's new paintings it will be up soon ... Thankyou Paramjeet Kaur
