KAUR - A Story of Courage and Equality

Are you excited about KAUR? We sure are! SikhNet's original animationKAUR is about a young Sikh girl, Saibhang Kaur, who learns about Mai Bhago from her grandmother. The story of Mai Bhago helps Saibhang Kaur reach for her dreams.

SikhNet has planned the release of KAUR to correspond with International Women's Day, (March 8th) and International Women's Month. #makeithappen.

KAUR will be available for FREE ONLINE beginning 7 AM Mountain Time USA on March 3rd - 7:30 pm India Time, 2 pm UK Time. (Convert to your local time)

WATCH FREE ON TV

The Sikh Channel will broadcast KAUR through their TV stations in the United Kingdom, Europe and Toronto, Canada.

Look for KAUR on Sikh Channel on March 3rd starting at 5 pm Greenwich Mean Time in the United Kingdom/6 pm Central European Time. Sikh Channel will also air KAUR at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time out of Toronto, Canada.

We are also working with Chardikla TimeTV in India on Punjabi audio dubbing for a TV release in India by Vaisakhi. 

We hope to also air on other TV channels as the opportunities come forward.

The cost has been kept to a bare minimum to make it very affordable. The DVD will be produced and shipped to most countries around the world. 


WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?

International Women's Day, which will take place on March 8th, is a day to focus on women. Their struggles, their difficulties, and their triumphs.

Guru Nanak Dev ji and all the Sikh Gurus promoted the spiritual and social empowerment of women. The messages they taught about women were centuries ahead of their time.

This International Women's Day, we hope that the movie KAUR will give you a chance to talk to the young women in your life about how powerful, special and important they are. We hope they will learn about the past so they can lead the future.
