How Does Gurbani Answer Our Confusions and Dualitites Of Mind?

How, exactly does Gurbani work?

Q - Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa!!! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!!

Respected Khalsajee, I would like to ask that how does Gurbani clears away all the dualities n confusions of mind? How can we get the answers to our day to day questions about LIFE, i.e. what to do n what not????

For being very specific, i would say that during my college days only, i had taken Amrut n now after completing my studies, being at a very good position in a company, m happy with my life - the ETERNAL BLISS i get after doing the path. But now when it comes actually for a life partner - watever relations are coming - the guys demand a NON GURSIKH GIRL - everyone wants me to groom n leave my AMRUT aside....... but which i never want to do.....So is it WAHEGURUJEE taking my test??? Should i oppose everyone n follow my Sikhism or should i follow my parents advice???? M confused, please give me the correct advice as soon as possible. Even they all are saying - you may continue your Path - do as much Path as you want to do but leave AMRUT:-(

Hope the answer would be justified - solving the problem of n number of girls like me who are very religious by heart but are in a gr8 confusion seeing this mordernization and show-man-ship of today's life!!!!

For some, I know, Tests are very hard and very LONG.
Weak ones like me sometimes Cry also, while alone in the Hazooree of Guru Saahab and talk to HIM. There is no harm in doing that, you will come out stronger.

Many others, before you, had thought of solutions like online matrimonials etc but with time, they all have become blunt arms and are not much useful. many respected sites have been infilterated & hence can't serve the true purpose anymore. something discreet is needed.
Go ahead and invent a forum of like minded Gursikhs and present the ideal solution!
HE has put you through this testing phase for a purpose, identify that purpose. See what you can do to make others' life better. You are strong and hasn't wandered away, many others might have. think about those and think about a solution. You are in the problem and experiencing it first hand You can be the best Solution provider.

I know you might be thinking what can you do alone.
No, again, you are not alone, you were never alone in this journey throughout. HE was always with you and so were his forces.

Have complete faith in Amrit

Please have a complete faith in "Khande Ki Pahul". If for some reason, finding match is taking some time, it is because of you own good, may be Satguru is preparing your match and you for a marital bliss. Satguru clearly says, that the Spousal Match or your parents and other people you interact with are "Poorab Janam Ke Mile Sanjogi" so the match is already made and decided, you need to wait for the "Right Moment".
Three things are very significant in Sikhi
1.) Bharosa (Unwavering Faith)
2.) Vivek (Patience)
3,) Namrata (Humility)

If you are asked to compromise on Amrit, the marriage may not work as the partners will always have different beliefs. It is better to NOT compromise on Amrit and wait for Gurujis Bhana and let sanjog play its part, which it will. Humbly

About double standards/customs/traditions

I am from a Sehajdhari Sikh family who are not recognised as Sikhs. That does not mean anything for me but strengthens my resolve and faith rather. I was going through the views of members more especially of "singinuk" and "mankawal kaur" below. Problem is about desires, fulfillment, contentment, satisfaction, doublestandards etc etc etc. It is itself a doublestandard when we do not know that what exactly are we looking for. One can either practise an organized religion or live the way he/she likes. When a practising sikh girl feels like shaving her legs but does not do so on remembering that Guru Sahiban had sacrificed generations. What would you call it ? How can we ignore the fact that 'she felt like doing so' despite the fact that she is already a practising Amritdhari Sikh? Why and how did that desire enter her heart and mind ? It should have not !!!! An amritdhari girl falls in love with a non-amritdhari, it should have not happened. Since it has happened, that might be the "bhana" !!! Why shoud she not accept it ?? That might be the will of Waheguru. Naam SIMRAN is not limited to a particular confine, it is unlimited and we can find solution for all types of problem in it. "IT GIVES US INNER STRENGTH TO ADAPT TO ALL TYPES OF ADVERSE CIRCUMSTANCES". That is what Guru Sahiban had 'practised then preached' !!! Double standards were, are and will remain there as it is the integral part of human race living in "worldly world". I know that my post in this forum does not actually answer any of the questions but it definitely makes us to interospect and think of the essence. Sat Sri Akaal.

one question you should ask yourself . If you could cut your hair , go out to find a partner , will you make him happy? if you go to clubs or wear nasty dresses , or try to look snsual , will that make your life better . if it does not then you know what to do

true that is!!!

sikhi is a way of living ...this is what i was told in school and my parents were preparing me how actually its lived...but at the both ends there was no mentioning of how we have to go thru the marraige phase...as i remember our religious teacher she could not find a amritdhari match , i was bit surprised but din't knew that i also have to go thru that phase . As in now I m going thru that phase where I m looking for a life partener ...people ask me to go against sikhi I have gone thru so many rejections bcos of the caste problem ...they dont want to know your qualifications but if you belong to certain caste which is totally against sikhi and where I stick to the principles. what i m trying to assert here is ...there are lots of aspects where our community wants to see others to be in but they themselves dont want to live that way .....so unless this dual face of our community changes we have to go thru this crap. hopefully I m not hurting anybodys feelings but sometimes I feel the sikh community is no more a practical community. I just want to say that as a sikh we should not look down at the world but face the problems to make ourselves stronger.As i am also sailing in the same boat my thought on this issue is that keeping faith in waheguru bcos what we are waiting is for our best...

Waheguru Ji Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ka Fateh For a amritdhari to cut his/her hair and then still do his/her nitnem is living a life of duality. On the one hand the amritdhari is reading gurbani to better him/herself. Then on the other hand he/she goes and does wrongful deeds knowing full and well they are wrong. In other words you are just reciting Gurbani ritually and not understanding what Gurbani is saying to you. Life has its challenges and for you my sister you are facing one today. The best thing to do is take a Hukam from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and you will be given the answer to your problem. May you stay strong and have an open mind that has no limit and boundaries. hey.......... so true we should always keep our faith in waheguru.......... god has given milk in infancy and relations to help us now........ if we pray to god with the full of our heart and have no doubt in wahegurus shakti then we will receive what our hearts desire.......... this is just a test for us....... and we should always have faith in waheguru ja sukh da, ta tuj he aradia . dukh which we tuja diaya if you give us happiness, shall we always repeat you name, even when tough times come we shall repeat your name... sometimes man thinks that ... you know just this once i shall do this (groom), but if we leave gods side now.. then when will we regain the trust of waheguru???????? this is a very precious life and an chance is given only once....... and i know from past experience that god has held my hand every step of the way..... living in Australia....... it has not always been easy to remain a full amritdari....... but god has given me the strenght to remain in the faith...... every person has a consious ...... whenever i want to do my eyebrows or shave my legs... my inner consious tells me .... what are you doing?????t? guru gobind singh has scarficed everything for this khalsa and you cannot leave the social image........ where is my gursikhi and my thankfullness........ so just listen to your inner mind.......... and remember that god is always holding your hand,,,,,,, always there to help........ but it is up to the human to open their inner mind and listen......... like in nitnem anand sahib......... Gur duarai lae bhavani ikna dasva duar dikhaia within the human body are nine doors which remain open,, but the tenth door is kept closedby the lord. we should pray to the lord to open that door so that we will be able to obtain anand. however, this tenth door can only be opened if one is blessed with the proper spritual key to fit the lock. by the grace of the almighty lord, when this 10th door will open the vision of the merciful lord will manifest. anyways........ point being ,,,,,,, thank god that you have been blessed with amrit,,,,,, dont take it for granted and always repeat the name of god,,,,,,, you will truly find the true path....... jo mahga thakur apne se soi soi deva Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh (WJKK WJKF)

After reading this post I recalled my sister, she is MSc and amrithdhari from childhood and very intelligent. She is Lecturer of zoology. She faced the same kind of issue when we were finding match for her. My fater and relatives insisted her to do path but leave amrit. She never say anyone no I am not agree, but never accepted. Then my parents asked me to compell her, but I was not agree with my parents or relatives. But still I have a talk with her on the same and she told me you should not say this to me. You are also amritdhari and asking me to leave. Then I said sorry to her and never insisted. But you know we found a match for her after 2-3 yrs of struggle. The match is so perfect amrithdhari, highly qualified and above all so simple and honest. Too good. Her in laws are so good. So please don't worry. Keep faith in Waheguru jee. He is our parents and care taker every where.
