Bank Of America Golden Temple Credit Cards

February 11th, 2009

One can now get credit cards with many different customized pictures on them, but it took a Texas-based company to issue one with the Golden Temple on it. Why have an eagle or the sky on your credit card when you can have Darbar Sahib?

Commemorating the 400th Anniversary, SGPC has approached UNESCO to declare the GOLDEN TEMPLE as a Heritage for the entire humankind. Golden Temple Credit Cards issued in 2002 joined in this worldwide effort to create awareness in humankind of our superb Heritage. Both American Express and Bank of America Mstercards are available, and the Mastercard has a beautiful picture of the Golden Temple on it.

GTCC, Inc. is a privately held investment services company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Agree with Ujagar Singhji

but with the concern that the card will be placed in wallet as in the case with men who would then be sitting on it and women placing handbags on floor on level of feet and shoes...so whoever started this trend should consider the disrespect and withdraw from this trend, please.

Consider this...

There are bags of Atta, CDs, magazine covers, and candy wrappers with pictures of the golden temple that then end up in the waste bin all the time. there are so many consumer products that use Sikh Religious images why should you bother so much about another one. I'm sure you yourself have purchased something with a religious symbol on it and ended up discarding it... THIS IS WHY WE ARE NOT IDOL WORSHIPERS!!! images and statues of things are not sacred, it is the intangible that is the sacred. If you want to be upset about something then why not direct it at the outrageous and completely disrespectful way that the SGPC has been destroying everything tangible and intangible within the sacred Sikh realm. The blatent disregard of respect of our rababi kirtan tradition at Darbar Sahib, the unconscionable destruction of our historical Gurdwaras, frescoes, and artifacts through plaster, whitewash and cheap marble, the complete corruption of the governing members, the demoralizing stance on women's rights within a Gurdwara... There are so many other things to be upset about, a Golden Temple credit card is such a non issue.

Golden Temple

Good and well done,at least other cultures will now learn a little bit about Sikhism. Our Sikh leaders had really did a bad bad job by not letting the other cultures know who we are.Hopefully our new generation will be able to change that.Again,WELL DONE and please think of more ways to promote Sikhism.

Beware

Beware the pandering banker.

Dangerous trend

Putting photo of the Golden temple on the CC is ill-motived. This can result in exploitation of the religious sentiments of the unsuspecting Sikhs everywhere. Besides, very soon we may find photos of hundreds of Hindu, Christian and other deities on the CCs, and the Bank managers may compel us to first prostrate before the photo and then honour the transactions.
