The 6th Annual Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das - First Stop: Mexico City

Six years ago, Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji [Yogi Bhajan] told S.S. Gurubachan S. Khalsa to go south and spread the teachings of Shabad Guru and Kundalini Yoga from the Rio Grande [America’s border with Mexico] to the southern tip of Chile in South America.

For the past 6 years many of us have been traveling to South America sharing the wonderful teachings that Yogi Bhajan so graciously shared with us. It is a remarkable blessing and honor to visit these beautiful cultures and people and participate in carrying on the legacy of this seva in the manner that Yogi Bhajan taught and exemplified.

In that spirit, September 27th was the inauguration of The 6th Lord of Miracles Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das. Guru Ram Das, the 4th Sikh Guru, was known for his service to humanity. It is at His altar, the Golden Temple, that we offer our heads, our service and our lives. For these reasons we dedicate this annual tour to Guru Ram Das, the Lord of Miracles! Dhan Dhan Ram Guru Jin siri a tiney savaria, Poori hoi karamat aap siri jana hare dharia.

For the next 34 days we will travel to 11 cities in 8 countries throughout South America. And we will be sharing with you the highlights, events, tears and joys of this magnificent tour. This year the theme of the Lord of Miracles Tour is “Understanding the Purpose of Life”.

Our first stop is Mexico. The sangat of Mexico City for many years has observed Guru Ram Das birthday with a wonderful weekend of kirtan, yoga classes, healing workshops, music and Gurdwara. It is a yearly event that is inspirational and fun filled that attracts several hundred people from all over the country of Mexico.

The following are some of the photos taken at the Lord of Miracles lecture and at the beautiful Gurdwara the following day in Mexico City. You will see the tears of joy on the faces of all of those who participated.

We are reporting to you from about 35,000 feet above Mexico on our flight from Mexico City to Bogota Colombia which will be our second stop on this wonderful tour. We will report to you again later in the tour.

My wife and I took a trip to

My wife and I took a trip to mexico for our first time last year we went with royal caribbean and it was the most relaxing trip ever.

gURU RAM DASS FESTIVAL

By Guru Ji's Grace, good job by Gurubachan Singh and all his companions. While all the Gurdwara committees are busy fighting for power and banning this Baba and that Jatha from doing parchar, this Sewaks of Guru Ji are busy spreading the word of our Great Gurus.KEEP IT UP AND CHARDI KALA TO ALL OF YOU.

Great Effort

I feel it is a great effort from S. Gurbachan Singh. Yes agreed that at the time of Guru Sahiban Yoga might not have been associated with the religion. But it is another healthy way of living, like Gatka. Guru Sahiban never believed in conversion and Sikh religion was never preached fanaticism. Sindhi's are the greatest example in the religion. As I see the effort of S. Gurbachan Singh, it is a way teaching a healthy way of living along with spirituality. You don't have to be a sikh to experience that divine power. Lets not misunderstand that they are preaching Sikhism by Yoga. They are teaching yoga and Gurbani makes it a complete spiritual experience. When people want more they adapt the sikhi lifestyle to bring in a complete fulfilling experience.

its very sad to know , this website is very much dominated by sikhnet family internally, and they keep deleting this comments of some people even if they are bit offensive,,but they should not forget that the community forums always contain gud and bad replies, and upon that i am very sorry to say that they put there own pictures a lot,as in the above article doing yogas and afterward doing bhangra , haha , it makes me laugh, they never go to poverty regions and do sikhi parchar, but instead they do it in well furnished or sponsored venues, common guys move out of Mexico and do some sumthing real, one thing i didnt liked in the above article and i am very straight in saying this ,i respect Harabhajan singh yogi, but u people cant twist sentences and compare with our gurujis. ''Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji [Yogi Bhajan] told S.S. Gurubachan S. Khalsa to go south and spread the teachings of Shabad Guru and Kundalini Yoga'' they have made there small world of practicing sikhs surrounded with posh and decent Sikhs, but what abt others!!!!! and i dont belive in yoga related to guru maharaj as well. sorry it was bit rude comment and i hope they gona delete it soon the moment they come across, but i said what i felt ssa

The right way

S.Gurbachan Singh ji, If you think travelling around teaching South Americans to sit cross-legged doing various aasanas, mudras, gestures and rituals of Hatha/kundalini yoga is spreading the Word of Guru Nanak, you are sadly mistaken and wasting your time, energy and money.(Or is it Sangat's money?!).The right way to spread Sikhi is doing what our beloved great Founder,Sri Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Jee did.He went into four corners of the world singing the Praise of God with his two companions wherever they went. You should follow his example and sing Gurbani to the South American masses and then translate the meanings to them.THAT is how to spread the Guru's word.Take with you a small Kirtan Jatha and a learned Gyani who can translate properly.Even better if you and others of your group know Spanish. What you are doing is not Sikhi at all.Check the 239 years of our holy Gurus' history - never did they ever teach people to do kundalini yoga or white tantric nonsense or any such garbage.Gurbani teaches that going contrary to Guru's teachings is manmatt,or self-centered egotism for which punishment is hell.

Looking forward to tour pictures! and Thanks!

Personally, I love the pictures that Sikhnet shares with sangat about the Tour. I hope more and more of my Sikh brothers and sisters from Punjabi community would take the great message of our Gurus to far and wide places on this Earth, as our Gurus themselves did, Siri Singh Sahib did, Sardar Gurbachan Singh and many others, especially from the Western Sikh community, are doing right now. There is also a great need in the U.S. as well since many still mistake us or haven't heard of us. And, I mean a lot more than just handing out a card "introduction to Sikh Americans" or similar introduction etc. but truely welcoming and guiding people to our Gurdwaras, Ahsrams in the true spirit of Sikhi. Gurdwaras also need to do their part in welcoming and showing non-Sikh visitors in a true spirit of Sikhi and try to convey the message of Guru Granth Sahib in the language they understand. I think more work needs to be done on this front within the Punjabi community and Gurdwaras.
