Ttoddee mehalaa 5 |
Sahib Siri Guru Arjan Devjee Maharaj speaks to us in the ttoddee raag. Ttoddee raag has this feeling where the veil of illusion is cast and we must escape from this veil of illusion to find our Beloved One. Guru Arjan Devjee says,

Garab gehilarro moorrarro heeou rae |
My heeou - my heart is moorrarro - is foolish, is unwise. Garab means egotistical pride, gehilarro means to be ensnared by; my foolish heart is ensnared by this egotistical pride. Even though I am nothing and Waheguru is all but still my foolish mind is entangled in this ensnare.

Heeou meharaaj ree maaeiou | ddeehar niaaee mohi faakiou rae | rehaao |
This maaeiou - this illusion was created by meharaaj - my Lord, my Waheguru. But what has it done? But instead of accepting the gifts of that giver, instead of loving the giver, not the gifts, what have I done? Ddeehar niaaee mohi faakiou rae - maaya has faakiou - has devoured me like some sort of ddehar - like some sort of witch. This false illusion around me is devouring me. How? Desire is eating away at me, hatred is eating away at me, greed is eating away at me.

Rehaao
Gurujee says pause and think about this.

Ghano ghano ghano sadh lorrai bin lehanae kaithai paaeiou rae |
Sadh means continually, ghano means more and more and more, lorrai means to desire for. I desire for more and more and more things. Bin lehanae kaithai paaeiou rae - bin means without, lehanae means to recieve - but without that destiny on the forehead, kaithai paaeiuou rai - how can one receive anything.

Meharaaj ro gaath vaahoo sio lubharriou nihabhaagarro bhaahi sanjoeiou rae |1|
Meharaaj ro gaath - the gift of my Lord vaahoo sio lubharriou - Gurujee is saying that we are ensnared with the gifts of the giver but we do not love the giver - that Waheguru. We are ensnared by His gifts - by this illusion, by this wealth around us but we are nihabhaagarro - we are unfortunate, bhaahi sanjoeiou rae - we've attached ourselves to the fire which will burn us, which will devour us of this illusion. Then Gurujee tells us how to escape,

Sun man seekh saadhoo jan sagalo thaarae sagalae praashath mittiou rae |
O my mind, listen to what seekh - the teachings, the wisdom of sadhoo jan - of the saints, of the holy ones, of the ones who walk upon the path of bliss. Sagalee thaarae sagalae praashath mittiou rae - all your sins, thare means yours, sagalae means all - all of your sins will be destroyed - will be taken away by listening to this wisdom because they will lead you from darkness into light.

Jaa ko lehano meharaaj ree gaatharreeou jan naanak garabhaas n pourriou rae |2|2|19|
Jaa ko means that person who is destined to lehano - to receive the meharaaj - the Lord God within his/her soul, gaatharreeou - within as a gift jan naanak garabhaas n pourriou rae - that person will not go back into the womb, that person will not be cast into the womb again, that person will not have to go back into reincarnation again who has been destined to meet his/her sovereign Lord Waheguru.
So what Gurujee is saying to us is wake up from this entanglement, this veil of illusion that is cast around you and seek the Truth.

Garab gehilarro moorrarro heeou rae |
Heeou meharaaj ree maaeiou | ddeehar niaaee mohi faakiou rae | rehaao |

Waheguru jee ka Khalsa, Waheguru jee ki Fateh!
