vad-hans mehlaa 3 ||
Satguru Maharaj Guru Amar Daas Ji is blessing us with this Shabad in Vadhans Raag today. begins the Shabad with Salok. Satgur Ji begins the Shabad today with:

ay man mayri-aa aavaa ga-on sansaar hai ant sach nibayrhaa raam||
ay man mayri-aa O my mind, see the humility and Namarta of Shri Guru Amar Daas Ji, they are completely one with the Lord. aap narayan kalaDhaar jag mai parvar-io completely the same light. In order to save us and bless us with this message of love Shri Guru Amar Daas Ji speaking truly to this mind. Satguru Ji is rather speaking to us. ay man mayri-aa O my mind, realize this, aavaa ga-on sansaar hai this thing that we call sansaar, what is it? It is just aavaa - coming and ga-on - going; that is what sansaar is. Someone is coming to the room, someone is going out of the room. Someone is being born and someone is dying. Something is made and something is destroyed. That is what the world is, constant change. ant - in the end sach nibayrhaa raam - O brothers, raam in this case is calling out to the sangat, to the congregation, calling out to those who are listening. O brothers and sisters, ant in the end the thing which will emancipate - nibayrhaa you, which will liberate you is sach, is eternal truth and the only sach is the name of the Lord. The name of satnaam, the name of Waheguru Ji. Satgur Maharaj Ji says amongst all this change, with all these things changing there is only one eternity that is Waheguru Ji's name.

aapay sachaa bakhas la-ay fir ho-ay na fayraa raam ||
aapay sachaa bakhas la-ay if Waheguru Ji himself bakhas la-ay, blesses us with their forgiveness, fir ho-ay na fayraa raam That human being who is blessed with forgiveness, fir again and again, ho-ay na fayraa raam does not have to enter this fayraa - cycle of reincarnation again and again.

fir ho-ay na fayraa ant sach nibayrhaa gurmukh milai vadi-aa-ee||
fir ho-ay na fayraa - That person who does not go through the cycle of reincarnation again, ant sach nibayrhaa - they have their last, ant human life, they have their nibayrhaa emancipated, liberated through sach, through eternity, through the eternal divine name of the Lord. gurmukh milai vadi-aa-ee And those Gurmukhs, followers of the Guru, those beloved Sikhs, they are blessed by the Guru with vadi-aa-ee, with glory, with greatness. The vadi-aa-ee of merging with the Lord.

saachai rang raatay sehjay maatay sehjay rahay samaa-ee||
saachai rang raatay sehjay maatay When they are imbued with the color of God's love, saachai rang- the color of eternal love, sehjay maatay - when they are raatay - imbued in the love, then they become intoxicated maatay in this level, avashtaa - in this level, stage of sehaj - complete spiritual poise and balance, where pain, happiness, all these things do not touch you, you go beyond all of these things. Maharaj Ji is saying if you fall in love with eternal Waheguru then this stage of spiritual balance you will be blessed with. sehjay rahay samaa-ee, sehjay - through the Guru's wisdom they samaa-ee they merge with the Lord.

sachaa man bhaa-i-aa sach vasaa-i-aa sabad ratay ant nibayraa||
A sign for us that vasaa-i-aa, that God has come to be enshrined within our heart, that the name of that eternal Lord is in our heart. what is the that thing that tells us that? sachaa man bhaa-i-aa As Bhai Veer Singh Ji says, if you say Waheguru once then you feel like saying it again. That is an excellent sign when you are doing meditation. sachaa man bhaa-i-aa that Waheguru Ji pleases your mind now. That Waheguru which you used to say, because which you had to, you forced your mind to say, now your mind wants to say because it takes enjoyment. That is the sign that Lord is abiding within your mind. And the falsehood is being washed away. sabad ratay that is the sign that you are ratay - you are imbued with the color of the Shabad, that you are attuned to the Shabad. ant nibayraa In the end it is the Shabad which will liberate you.

naanak naam ratay say sach samaanay bahur na bhavjal fayraa. ||1||
Satguru Paadshah Ji says those who are ratay imbued in the name naam of the Lord, say sach samaanay they are attuned to the eternal Lord. bahur na bhavjal fayraa They do not come into the circle of reincarnation, in the bhavjal in the ocean of fear again. Satgur Amar Daas Ji goes on to saying:

maa-i-aa moh sabh baral hai doojai bhaa-ay khu-aa-ee raam||
You want to talk about madness? Maharaj Ji says sab all of this moh, all of this attachment to maa-i-aa to this illusion of this world is baral is the true madness. doojai bhaa-ay khu-aa-ee raam And through doojai bhaa-ay duality, duality means loving other than that Lord Waheguru. Putting our hopes and desires into material world instead of into eternal Waheguru. Maharaj Ji says we can only be khu-aa-ee , we can only be ruined. There is nothing that can happen.

maataa pitaa sabh hayt hai haytay palchaa-ee raam||
Satgur Ji says maataa pitaa sabh hayt hai Mother and father, they are all attachments, and our engagements through all are attachments. haytay palchaa-ee raam And in all of these we are entangled in the attachment. We forget our true mission in our entanglement and attachment. Guru Ji goes on to say:

haytay palchaa-ee purab kamaa-ee mayt na sakai ko-ee||
haytay palchaa-ee we are entangled purab kamaa-ee and this is according to our purab kamaa-ee to our past deeds, our past actions. mayt na sakai ko-ee No one can, no human being can mayt erase these actions.

jin sarisat saajee so kar vaykhai tis jayvad avar na ko-ee||
jin sarisat saajee That Waheguru who himself created this world, so kar vaykhai He himself kar the karta purakh the one who pervades through all, as Guru Nanak Dev Ji tells us in Japji Sahib. so kar vaykhai Waheguru Ji made this world, pervading and watching through all, tis jayvad avar na ko-ee and there is no on one like Akaal Purakh, like Waheguru.

manmukh anDhaa tap tap khapai bin sabdai saaNt na aa-ee||
Guru Sahib Ji says the manmukh the follower of his mind is blinded by his spiritual ignorance. tap tap khapai and is consumed and burnt by anger, desires. bin sabdai saaNt na aa-ee And inside there are four fires within that manmukh, follower of the mind. hate attachment, lobh - greed, krodh - anger all these four rivers of fire are burning. bin sabdai without the Guru's Shabad saaNt na aa-ee there cannot be any peace. Guru Sahib Ji goes on to saying:

naanak bin naavai sabh ko-ee bhulaa maa-i-aa mohi khu-aa-ee. ||2||
Guru Amar Daas Ji says bin naavai without the name of the Lord, sabh ko-ee bhulaa not just one, not just two, anyone who just does not have the name of the Lord in their heart they are all bhulaa - they are all deluded. maa-i-aa mohi khu-aa-ee Whether they think they are lost or not, they are lost. They are khu-aa-ee ruined by the mohi attachment of material goods all the time.

Eaehu jag jalathaa dhaekh kai bhaj peae har saranaaee raam ||
To have this realisation that the whole world is jalathaa - is burning, that realisation makes you bhaj peae har saranaaee raam - it makes you run to the protection of the Guru who is the form of Hari - the form of the formless God on this earth.

Aradhaas kara(n)aee gur poorae aagai rakh laevahu dhaehu vaddaaee raam ||

Keep me in your protection, har naam vaddaaee - give me the glory - the virtues of the naam that I may sing them day and night. Thudh jaevadd avar n dhaathaa - there is no other giver like you, O Waheguru, You are the greatest giver. Guru Teg Bahardur jee explains to us:Jagat Bhikari firat hai sabh ko daataa raam The whole world is a beggar, Waheguru is the one who gives to all.

Saevaa laagae sae vaddabhaagae jug jug eaeko jaathaa ||
Those who Guru Sahibjee has attached to selfless service they have got great fortune. Jug Jug eaeko jaatha - Gurujee blesses them with this realisation that that One Lord is the One who pervades through all past, present and future.Jath sath sa(n)jam karam kamaavai bin gur gath nehee paaee ||
Maharaj jee says that even if we were to carry out celibacy, sat - austere practising of the truth, sanjam - all these disciplies, karam - all these rituals, without the Guru we cannot find liberation. Why? Because through celibacy, austere reverence for the truth, through disciplines all of these things through these actions - without the Guru's Grace we are bound to get ego and we are about to fall. But with the Guru's rehat Guru sahibjee keeps us from this and blesses us.

Naanak this no sabadh bujhaaeae jo jaae pavai har saranaaee ||3||
Sathiguru Sahibjee says that the Guru sahibjee passes the understanding of the shabad - the word of the Lord to jo jaae pavai har saranaaee - who goes and falls into the protection of the Guru.

Jo har math dhaee saa oopajai hor math n kaaee raam ||
What Wahegurujee gives as understanding to some beings saa oopajai - that is what blossoms forth in that being, hor math na kaaee raam - there is no other understanding. O Gurmukh piareo it is what Waheguru has given.

A(n)thar baahar eaek thoo aapae dhaehi bujhaaee raam ||
A(n)thar, Within me, bahar - outside, eaek thoo - there is Only You, Waheguru You are the One pervading through all and O my Lord Waheguru, please bless me with this bujhaaee - with this understanding. Guru Sahibjee says this in Japjee Sahib:Gura eik dhae bhujae - Let me understand that one who is pervading through all.
Sabhna jeea ka ik daatha so mai visar na jaae - the one who is giver to all beings, may I never forget this.

Aapae dhaehi bujhaaee avar n bhaaee guramukh har ras chaakhiaa ||
Maharaj jee says please bless me with this understanding, avar n bhaaee - and once you bless me with this understanding, nothing else seems sweet to me only this understanding seems the greatest pleasure. By following the Guru the Gurmukh has tasted the essence of Lord, the greatest pleasure on this earth, the greatest pleasure anywhere.

Dhar saachai sadhaa hai saachaa saachai sabadh subhaakhiaa ||
When the Gurmukh comes to the true door, what is the true door - the saadhsangat, forever and ever he merges into the truth. Saachai sabadh subkhaakhiaa - forever and ever he speaks and chants the true shabad, the true words of the Guru. In the court of the Lord he is known as truthful forever. Why? Because he has meditated upon the true shabad, the true divine word of the Lord.

Ghar mehi nij ghar paaeiaa sathigur dhaee vaddaaee ||
Within this ghar - within this world, within this body he has found this nij ghar - that true soul which is dwelling within himself, that Aatma which is part of Paramaatma - that soul which is part of the Creator. Sathigur dhaee vaddaaee - the true guru has given him the glory of God's name and through this they've found out their true self.

Naanak jo naam rathae saeee mehal paaein math paravaan sach saaee ||4||6||

Math parvaan sach saaee - they are forever true, they are forever eternal and their math is parvaan - their understanding is accepted and blessed.

Guru Amardaasjee Maharaj is telling us through this shabad today: O Guru piareo that only through coloring our mind in naam can we be taken out of the circles of reincarnation, of desire.
