Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa (Khannewale), the charismatic Gursikh, Gurmukh, Bharamgiani, spiritualist, philosopher, philanthropist, preacher, kirtani and founder of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Eye Hospital, who passed away on October 14 2006, was posthumously awarded the title of “Panth Rattan” (Jewel of the Panth) on 22nd October 2006.
During his lifetime, Bhai Sahib stood tall for his selfless service to all of humanity, and his dedication and commitment to the Sikh Panth. He spent his entire life preaching the true concepts and philosophy of the Shabad Guru. He was a beacon of hope and inspiration to tens of thousands of Sikhs around the world.
The award of “Panth Rattan” was announced by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee after Bhai Sahib's bhog ceremony and reported in various newspapers in India and abroad. Bhai Sahib is the first preacher in Sikh history to be officially conferred with the honour of "Panth Rattan."
