Confronting Religious & Political Corruption
Event Details
Liv Sikhī webinars cover a wide range of topics through live interactive sessions, allowing participants to engage with presenters and other attendees in real-time.
Who should attend?
Those interested in understanding how Sikh divinity guides collective consciousness in a corrupt society.
What is the presentation about?
Through “Babar Bani” we will explore the nexus between religion, society, politics and the Divine Will, as seen by Guru Nanak Sahib. We will study the relationship of a state with civilians, with a focus on larger issues of power politics, human morality, individual rights and justice. The presentation will attempt to establish, how a Divine oriented self-awakened individual is central to the idea of a dignified and sovereign society. It will also answer questions like, what does being truly religious mean in a conflict zone with an “indiscriminately brutalized” environment and what is the role of such an individual in it. We will also look for parallels in contemporary world and establish the relevance of lessons learnt!
Who are the presenters?
Harinder Singh is the co-founder and Chief Programming Officer of SikhRI. Surender Pal Singh serves as Research Associate at SikhRI.
