Session Details:
This session will explore how Sikh institutions evolved and what purpose they serve. Further, how they need to be restructured to serve the needs of modern day existence in a global village that the world has become. It will also look at what kind of a relationship we envision with the existing Sikh institutions in India and elsewhere in the world.
Presenter information:
I.J. Singh is a professor of Anatomical Sciences at NYU. He has authored four collections of essays on his journey as a Sikh in North America. He serves on the Advisory Board of United Sikhs & Sikh Research Institute. Singh is also on the Editorial Board of Sikh Review. He has lectured extensively on interfaith issues and is a regular columnist on the online magazine Sikhchic.com.
