Event Details
Sikh Gaurav S. Jaspal Singh, who, from starting itself has been an inspiration for youth in modeling, broke down the fashion trends in Grasim Mr. India International 2002 by becoming the first saabat soorat Sikh model to win it. He encouraged us to make a project to initiate turbaned youth in the show biz. He promised to be an integral part of it. In 2003, an attempt was made to encourage Sikh youth to join the fashion industry and show biz by introducing saabat soorat Sikh boys as models in the first Sikh Gaurav awards function. The show was presented by world media and our efforts were highly appreciated by all, especially the people in the industry. Gauging the resultant demand from across the globe, this initiative moved further and has taken a giant leap to make it an international event. One of the participants in the show, S. Harpreet Singh of Amritsar, bagged a role in an Indo-British English movie .The Sikh Gaurav awards further gave rise to Mr. Singh International. First such contest was organised in 2005. Hundreds of youth participated in the contest across the world. 45 participants reached the final stage. S. Harpreet Singh of Patiala was conferred the title of Mr Singh International, S. Inderdeep Singh of Ambala 1st runner up and S. Inderjeet singh of Sangrur 2nd runner up. Respected S. Parkash Singh Badal, Sh. Yash Chopra, Sh Raj Babbar were among the other dignitaries who attended the programme and gave blessings to the participants. Media coverage to the event was historic. With God’s grace and support, we hope to take this project to the zenith. Second
