The Grihast Retreat: Becoming One Spirit

The Grihast Retreat is a 2-day event for young couples to strengthen marriage and family relationships by offering deeper communication between wife and husband. Grihast incorporates diverse themes that are at the foundation of a married life. New perspectives provide insights on building meaningful relationships while workshops and discussions offer a glimpse of the Gurū’s vision and ideals on marriage.
Event Details
Grihast offers a contemplative and reflective environment to work on personal development and marriage enhancement through activities, educational presentations, and group discussions. Grihast provides a meaningful look at yourself, your partner, and your relationship, which allows for an opportunity to change. Besides offering helpful information on methods for conflict resolution, balancing pre-marriage expectations with the reality of shared living, Grihast addresses fresh perspectives on marriage based on the Sikh faith and culture. Throughout the various sessions, couples are given insight on the direction of what marriage should be, according to the Sikh vision of the ‘householder living.’ Outlooks are derived from the text and spirit of the Gurū Granth Sāhib as well as from personal reflections and experiences.Date - 15 - 16 August 2009 | 8:00 am Saturday – 6:00 pm Sunday
