Battlefield Tour May 2009. Take a guided tour of the Battlefields of Northern Europe where The Sikh regiment played a critical role during World War One.

'In the last two world wars 83,005 turban wearing Sikh soldiers were killed and 109,045 were wounded for the freedom of Britain and the world during shell fire, with no other protection but the turban, the symbol of their faith' General Sir Frank Messervy KCSI,KBE,CB,DSO This tour, organised in conjunction with a professional Tour Company will take you to the Battlefields of Northern Europe. * Experienced guides will offer a unique insight into the Indian Army's outstanding contribution to the battles of World War 1. * We will visit the preserved trenches at Bayernwald and learn how Sikh forces arrived in Europe unprepared for winter combat. * In following the footsteps of our ancestor heroes, the tour will visit the battlefields of Neuve Chapelle and Ypres. * After visiting the spectacular Indian Memorial, the tour will culminate at the Menin Gate, for ‘the ‘Last Post', commemorating those who sacrificed their lives in the defence of others.
