The Sikh Sangat of North America and MySimran.info invites you to participate in their "Interfaith Community Wellness" event, now an official Pathways to PoWR 2018 pre-Parliament event.

The purpose of the event is to promote peace and harmony by providing guests with an in-depth exposure to another faith to broaden their perspective and enable them to see the commonalities with their own faith. To this end, the event will enable guests to experience an evening in the Gurdwara.

The event will start with a guided tour of the premises commencing with the Langar Hall (dining room) for snacks and an explanation of the five centuries old langar tradition. During their tour, the guests will also see our relics housed at the Gurdwara and receive an explanation of the historical events depicted in paintings on the Gurdwara walls. This will be followed by an opportunity to sit in the temple as part of the congregation and to experience the spiritual talks and hymns related to the Sikh faith.

In the discourse special emphasis will be placed on Mental Health & Wellness, and how health issues can be avoided and/or addressed. The evening will end with a sumptuous meal in the langar hall, at which time one of our most experienced speakers will address attendees on the topic of “War, Violence and Hate Speech”.

When: April 8, 2018 from 3-6 pm
Refreshments at 3 pm
Langar (Sacred Dinner) at 5:30 pm

Where: SIKH CENTRE OF SEATTLE
20412 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell, WA 98012

Interested in attending the event? Please take a moment to read the guide Visiting a Gurdwara before attending the event and contact Maninder Singh at 425-749-2717 or email [email protected] for questions.
