Fateh Ji,
In case someone has a medical problem and cannot sit on the ground then he or she can sit on bench/chair usually provided in Gurduwaras. Some may opt to sit on the bench or chair though they do not have a medical problem. In Guru Ghar one is not required to produce a medical certificate to be exempt from sitting on the ground.
But in Guru Ghar seating cannot be like in Churches.
