Langar request in Gurmukhi script
Can you tell me the meaning to this sentence?
ਲੰਗਰ=food ਵਿਚ=with ਜੂਠੇ=dirty ਹੱਥ=hands (Object)
ਨ=don't ਲਾਉ=touch (Verb)
I have listed the individual meaning for each word, but they may be incorrect. Please feel free to let me know about anything I got wrong.
I think the sentence means, "Members don't touch food with dirty hands".

That is a great way of explaining "joothay hands".
Also, when someone has started to eat their food (even after one bite) it has now become "joothi food", and same with tasting food directly from a pot and putting the ladel back in. So no joothay hands or food belong in langar.
I don't think there is a word for "joothay" in the english language.

Thank you for the reply Serjinder Singh Ji. ਲਾਉ is an inflected form of ਲਾਉਣਾ.
Here is the example sentence I gave.
Can you tell me the meaning of "ਲਾਉ" as it used in the aforementioned example sentence?
